Key Highlights:
Introduction speeches were held by MEP Anouk van Brug and Jan-Christoph Oetjen – Renew Europe
The partners of the the U-LTA platform were presented, notably MITEB, HyLight, FLYING WHALES, roboloon, Wolkenflug in person as well as Kelluu, Aéronde and LTA Research, including supply industries as Trelleborg Group (Coatings), DIATEX SAS (Fabrics), 45-8 ENERGY (Helium/Hydrogen), CSEM, AEF Aero and the academic partners FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, the Aerospace Department of the Politecnico di Milano, Université libre de Bruxelles/ATM Department, Concordia University, University of Stuttgart and the Université D’Evry
The discussion showed the advanced nature of the sector where many developers are already flying and selling their services commercially, while others are close to this TRL level. At the same time it showed the urgent necessity, considering the Draghi report, to better integrate LTA Technology in Europe’s Horizon Programme, Climate Mitigation Policy, Clean Aviation Policy, the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) as well as its Civil Security Policy.
The afternoon continued with an engaging visit to the Representation of the Free State of Saxony to discuss opportunities for innovation in aviation, led by Cornelius Huppertz.
